Our centrifugal brake systems provide reliable controlled braking. These systems work using a similar principal to a centrifugal clutch, however the drum or housing is locked, which accurately controls the rate of rotation to prevent over speeding.
Characteristically, centrifugal brakes are commonly used as a backup brake or failsafe system for electronically controlled spring-applied brakes, as they function automatically without requiring an input signal. These systems, which include the Amsbeck range of centrifugal brake systems, can be supplied either as standard products or they can be shaped to specific requirements.
